Chris Meyers , of Meyers Welsh Architecture and Design, says the Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club was modeled after the classic American golf clubs of the turn of the century, Kinsale Golf and Fitness club has been created to exemplify quality in amenities, craftsmanship and an exceptional attention to detail.
The Clubhouse design utilizes elements and materials typical of coastal eastern architecture, stone walls, lap siding, prominent trim detailing, dormers and porches all with a classic attention to proportion and scale. In its elegance the clubhouse is comfortable and welcoming, and remains consistent with the traditional character of its surroundings and golf course.
The challenge set forth by the owner was to create a clubhouse facility whose program equates to over 30,000 square feet while maintaining the comfort and feel of a home. In addressing this challenge all aspects of the design including material selections, overall building massing and interior finishes, helped to maintain the residential character.
In 2004, Golf Digest Magazine recognized the club and golf course as one of America’s best. In addition, the clubhouse received numerous craftsmanship awards for high quality construction by local associations.
Meyers concluded by saying “We were very pleased with the involvement of Hamilton Parker Company through design and construction during the project.”
