hardwood flooring, and ceramic or natural stone,” said Phil Pitts, Ceramic Product Manager for Bostik Findley Flooring. “Easy to apply, SL-150 can be walked in four hours or less, giving contractors the versatile, cement-based underlayment for which they have been waiting.”
SL-150 delivers an extended flow/heal time of 20+ minutes and high compressive strengths averaging 1500 psi after four hours to 5500 psi after 28 days. Suitable for underlayments requiring featheredges up to an inch thick, SL-150 can be applied featheredged to 5 inches thick when mixed with pea gravel as specified.
Before using SL-150, Bostik® Universal Primer TM should first be “broom applied,” rolled or sprayed over the substrate. SL-150 then can be spread using a metal straight edge, finish trowel, squeegee or similar hand tools. For larger jobs, best results are obtained when SL-150 is applied with an underlayment pump using a mixture of 5½ quarts of water per 50-pound bag.
One 50-pound bag covers 50 square feet at a thickness of 1/8 inch.
“When formulating SL-150 we worked closely with contractors in the field to ensure that this new technology consistently exceeds both performance and price expectations,” Pitts said.
