Cersaie 2026: Trends and Takeaways
Our team walked Cersaie 2026 in Bologna, Italy. Here are the tile trends worth knowing about.

Picture a shower wall in full bloom. Not a few tasteful accent tiles, but one floor-to-ceiling panel of oversized petals, so detailed you lean in to check whether someone painted it by hand.
That was one of the first booths we saw. After a week at Cersaie in Bologna, Italy, one of the world’s biggest tile and bath shows. Our team came home with sore feet, close to 400 photos, and a clear picture of where tile is headed. The short version: bolder, warmer, and an emphasis on nature. Here’s what stood out to our team.
Bold Botanicals

Botanicals were everywhere, and they were not shy. Florals were printed across large porcelain panels and used as full feature walls behind vanities and inside showers. Quieter versions scattered small petals across a stone look. Either way, you get the wow factor with porcelain’s durability.
Larger Than Life

The 24×48 panel now feels like an everyday size, and slabs as big as 48×110 covered entire walls with only a seam or two. Exhibitors wrapped them around vanities, tubs, and kitchen islands for a seamless, solid-stone look. Fewer grout lines also mean easier cleaning, a win for busy homes and commercial spaces alike.
Stone Styles

If one stone look owned the show, it was Taj Mahal. Its creamy base and gentle golden veining showed up in booth after booth. Warm travertines, glowing onyx, and quiet limestones rounded out a palette of whites and creams that feels both calm and grounded.

Warm & Moody Reds
Red is back in a big way. We saw oxblood and white checkerboards, offset stacks, fluted stripes, and dramatic marble looks with wine-colored veining. The most striking shade sat right on the edge of purple: a deep burgundy that reads rich and grown-up rather than loud.

Grounded Greens & Browns
Sage, olive, and emerald showed up in glossy wall tile and matte panel options alike. Brown shades ran from caramel and honey to chocolate and terracotta. Together they gave the show an earthy, collected warmth that pairs easily with wood, gold fixtures, and natural light.

Texture you can feel
Flat surfaces were the exception. Fluted, ribbed, and scalloped profiles, fabric and woven looks, carved reliefs, and raised-panel tiles that mimic cabinet doors all invited a hand to run across them. Wood-look staves set apart by contrasting grout lines gave walls the rhythm of slatted millwork. Paired with grazing light, texture did the decorating.
What it means for your next project
For designers and architects, large-format matte stone and textured panels deliver a high-end look that performs in commercial spaces. For homeowners, one bold move goes a long way: a floral shower wall, a burgundy checkerboard, or a fluted vanity front.
